Named after the Phoenician capital of the papyrus industry, “Byblos,” a city located
some 30 km from today’s Beirut, the stems of the tall sedge (papyrus) were cut to
make early manuscripts. Today, books and magazines have been thoroughly integrated
within our lives. The ORAC DECOR® Byblos system has evolved from this philosophy.
Conceived to readily provide aesthetic refinement to bookcases, shelving, alcoves and
other “troublesome” areas that have been traditionally difficult for architects,
interior designers, builders and remodelers to decorate, the ORAC DECOR® Library System
can be used in a wide variety of applications. Comprising symmetrical Left and Right
side semi-arches that can be easily cut and joined on site to form full arches,
complementary integral trims and corresponding architectural elements can be interchanged
and utilized in various combinations as desired within the ORAC DECOR® Library System
to create a truly customized installation.
